About

Welcome. I’m Terra Minolli, a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) instructor and graduate from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS).

My love for language stems from my experiences learning Italian and studying linguistics as an undergraduate student at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC). I later discovered my passion for teaching English in the time I spent in Italy and South Korea. After teaching one year in Italy and two years in South Korea, I realized I needed to learn how to become a better teacher. It began when I took a CELTA course in Thailand to refine my skills. However, this left me wanting to learn more about language learning and teaching processes. This is what brought me to MIIS.

When I am not teaching or studying, I seek outdoor adventures. I spend my free time hiking mountains and valleys, cycling, rock climbing, kayaking and baking bread. I thrive off adventures that challenge me physically and mentally - they keep me focused and ready to tackle the world.
